Voice typing is useful for drafting Sinhala quickly, but speech recognition is not a substitute for proofreading. Browser and operating-system support vary, and microphone permission is always under your control.
1. Start a supported browser
Open the MyFonts.lk converter in a current browser, select the microphone action, and allow microphone access only for the current site. Speak in a quiet room at a steady pace. Short phrases usually produce more reviewable results than a long uninterrupted paragraph.
2. Review the transcript
Check names, numbers, punctuation, and similar-sounding words. Compare the spoken-history panel with the final Unicode output. Edit mistakes directly in the text box; do not repeatedly dictate an entire paragraph to fix one word.
3. Copy Unicode output
Copy the reviewed Sinhala Unicode text into Word, email, social media, or a design application. Choose a Unicode Sinhala font when appearance matters. Keep sensitive material out of any speech service whose privacy terms do not fit your use case.
When voice typing fails
Confirm microphone permission, input-device selection, and browser language support. Network-backed recognition may not work offline. For confidential or offline typing, use keyboard-based Singlish conversion or an offline tool instead.
