How to Install Sinhala Fonts on Windows and macOS
A font file controls appearance; it does not install a Sinhala keyboard. Download the TTF from its individual MyFonts.lk font page, review the stated licence, and install only the styles you need.
Install on Windows
Close applications that cache font lists. Right-click the downloaded TTF and choose Install, or Install for all users when administrator access and system-wide availability are required. Reopen Word, Photoshop, or the browser and search for the font by its displayed family name.
Install on macOS
Double-click the TTF to open Font Book, review the preview, and choose Install Font. Font Book reports duplicates or validation problems. Resolve duplicates before production work because two versions with the same family name can make documents render differently.
Verify Sinhala support
Paste a Unicode sample such as “සිංහල අකුරු පරීක්ෂාව” into an application and select the new font. Check vowel signs and joined letters rather than judging one isolated character. A Legacy-only font may require encoded Legacy text and is not a substitute for Unicode in modern documents.
Removal and licensing
Remove unused fonts through Windows Font settings or macOS Font Book, not by deleting random system files. Free download does not automatically mean unrestricted commercial use, redistribution, modification, or embedding. Follow the licence shown on the font page.
